Ferald van Ark from Heerde (The Netherlands) started in 1992 as a youth member in pigeon racing. Due to personal circumstances he temporarily needed to stop racing a few years later. In 2009 he made a restart and proved himself to be one of the best Short Distance racers in the district. Over the years he obtained several quality pigeons to strengthen his breeding loft. The result was a loft with proven breeders who bred top racing offspring. With the youngsters from the breeders many first prizes were won and super series were made, on his own loft (named 'Next Generation') but also on several other lofts.

The breeding loft of Ferald van Ark is mainly based on the very best of Leo Heremans, Jacob Poortvliet, Stefaan Lambrechts and Lambrecht-Lismont. Over the years many direct Leo Heremans pigeons came to the lofts in Heerde. One of the best breeders is BE11-498 ‘Super Bolt’. This top breeder is granddaughter of BE12-198 ‘Bolt’ and BE13-803 ‘Kittel’. Although she has a ring from 2011, she is born in 2017. ‘Super Bolt’ is (grand-)mother to winners of:
